Boutique shopping in Barcelona

Without any hesitation, Passeig de Gracia is 'home' to the most popular boutique shops in Barcelona, so if you are shopping for luxury designer apparel brands and popular household names, then Passeig de Gracia is your first point of call. Although, not all of the boutique shops in Barcelona are located on this particular shopping boulevard!

Like all great cities, where you can shop until you drop, there are hundreds of boutique shops in Barcelona and independent local designers located across 10 shopping districts in Barcelona.

Shop until you drop

Amongst the boutique shops in Barcelona on Passeig de Gracia, you will also find popular household names such as, Anthropologie, & Other Stories, Cos, H&M, Reply, Nike, Oysho, Zara, Zara Home and a wide selection of popular restaurants and rooftop bars, not to mention the architecture of famous architectures such as Antoni Gaudí, Josep Puig i Cadafalch, Lluís Domènech i Montaner and Enric Sagnier, amongst others.

So, when you are shopping in Barcelona, remind yourself, to embrace the moment and look out for Casa Milla and Casa Batllo.

When these fanciful, modernista buildings where built, they were initially referred to as overelaborate, contrived and over-the-top, whereas nowadays, they sit perfectly on the most famous boutique shopping boulevard in Barcelona.

Casa Milla (La Pedrera, image 1 of 3 below), is a rather whimsical building, with columns, masks and bird railings, sculptures and mysterious inscriptions in Catalan, such as, 'Oblida' (aka forgetfulness) or 'perdona' (forgiveness).

Casa Batllo (image 2 of 3 below), was completed in 1907 with the most gorgeous glazed tiled facade. If you don't have time, try to make time or better still, book a guided tour. Oh, and don't forget to look down and all around, as the inspired by nature street lighting, tiled circular tree benches and paving are also designed by world famous Architect Antoni Gaudi (1852-1926).
